Project 12, first release party: Longy & The Gospel Trash plus Video Blue
We are excited to welcome Longy & The Gospel Trash to The Space 289 for their first show of Project 12.
LONGY & THE GOSPEL TRASH– Rolling into 2020 with PROJECT 12, Longy sets out to complete 12 singles with 12 music videos playing 12 release shows, over 12 months, this is the first one and is fitting for his 6 piece band to show some muscle as space 289 is our first venue of the cause. Big fuck off guitars, organ, keys, angels and some Bass slap with a victorious Trumpet player, this Essex pied piper & the Gospel Trash are coming with venomous songs bleached with pulling hope from this fast moving digitalised world, Springsteenesque stories of getting out of the small town chains but mostly trying to shrug off smalltown mindsets……
VIDEO BLUE – Video Blue is a project by Jim O’Donoghue Martin. Embracing ambient electronica and guitar driven alt-pop, all of the music is recorded in his east London bedroom. 2015 has seen the release of 2 EP’s; ‘More Pop Troubles’ (released on cassette via US indie Wiener Records) and September’s ‘Simmer’. Summer 2016 saw the release of the ‘Disco Nap’ single, which was released on 7” vinyl and available in stores such as London’s Rough Trade and Dublin’s Tower Records. Video Blue was also selected to play at Hard Working Class Heroes 2016, and named by the Irish times’ Jim Carroll as one of his 3 picks.. Debut album ‘Love Scenes’ was released on the 13th of March 2017.
