Skinny Living are a three-piece English indie-soul band from Wakefield, West Yorkshire, comprising vocalist Ryan Johnston and guitarists Will Booth and Danny Hepworth. Formed in 2013, their name reflects the realities of working-class life, embodying hard work, passion, and an optimistic outlook. Their music is characterized as a raw blend of acoustic soul, alt-indie, and modern grit, featuring soaring harmonies and lyrics that explore themes of resilience, love, and hope, often drawing comparisons to artists like Bill Withers and The Isley Brothers. After accumulating over 60 million streams worldwide and a period in 2020 performing as 'New Familiar', the band released their highly anticipated debut album, "Day By Day," in 2024. This album achieved significant success, reaching number one on the UK Independent Albums Chart and number 24 on the Official Albums Chart. Following this, Skinny Living released "EP 9," which serves as the culmination of a decade-long creative plan. The band has confirmed an extensive tour across the UK and Ireland, with dates scheduled from late 2024 through early 2026, including a major hometown show at the new Wakefield Exchange on December 13, 2025. They also performed their single 'Strawberry Jam' at the Open House Festival in Bangor in 2024.
