Arthur Squawks! is an Art Rock band. Operating between London, UK and Athens, GR, with the involvement of various musicians and visual artists, the group currently performs songs written in the frame of frontman Adrianos Pandis’s doctoral research. Debut album, Hospital, is a mixed media concept album. Hospital was released in Autumn 2024 as a book of poems, graphic notations and lyrics, contextualising the digital music release. The narrative follows frontman's experience in the cancer ward of an Athenian hospital, aiming to retell the story as a rock and roll tale, transferring the listener from the mechanical soundscapes of the MRI machines to the Café Bizarre; from the haunting emptiness of the hospital room to open Californian shorelines. The album has been most notably reviewed by historic Rock n’ Roll outlet Ruta 66 and Athenian major free-press Athens Voice (Next Big Thing, 2025), as well as several blogs in the U.K. and U.S.
Austel
Austel is the musical moniker of UK artist, producer, and songwriter Annie Rew Shaw. Blending ethereal vocals with cinematic textures, Austel creates a distinctive brand of alt-pop that fuses electronic minimalism with indie-folk intimacy and emotive storytelling - inspired by artists such as Eva Cassidy, Bon Iver, Cocteau Twins, The National and Nils Frahm.
Following years spent working as a session musician performing at festivals such as Glastonbury and touring the UK, Austel released her debut EP Unfold in 2018, drawing plaudits from the likes of BBC 6 Music and The Line Of Best Fit. Her 2020 sophomore EP Cold Love drew further support from Fresh On The Net, O2 Music and BBC Introducing.
Austel’s 2024 debut album Dead Sea is a dreamy exploration of loss, recovery, and transformation. Self-produced and featuring collaborations with Grammy award-winning engineer Guy Massey, the record is the culmination of seven years’ work and artistic development. The lyrical content and album artwork - a salt sculpture created with Columbian artist Natalia Giraldo Giraldo - explore the poeticism of salt: its dual qualities of pain and healing. The Dead Sea is one of the harshest, lifeless environments on earth, but Austel finds that even in the most barren of places, we can begin to recover.
